Description

The WellSim Oil Well Simulator is designed to emulate the signals of sensors installed on oil production wells. The software allows operators to reproduce dynagraph cards obtained from real oil wells and modify them to simulate various operating conditions, such as equipment malfunctions or gradual reduction of pump fillage.

The well simulator is used for testing the functionality of rod pump controllers as well as for training personnel in their operation.

The simulator also allows users to add new dynagraph cards, either recorded from operating wells or synthetically generated.

For both predefined and newly added well models, the simulator takes into account well geometry and installed equipment, enabling more realistic simulation of operating conditions.

Key Features:

  • Playback of sensor signals recorded from real wells
  • Ability to add additional test wells recorded from real wells or synthetically generated
  • Modification of test well signals to simulate various well conditions
  • Simulation of equipment failures
  • Consideration of pumping unit geometry
  • Support for different types of well equipment
  • Friction modeling in the well system
  • Testing environment for rod pump controllers
  • Personnel training tool
  • Simulation of well operating modes with feedback response
  • Emulation of signals from different types of sensors
  • Support for both beam pumping units and chain-driven pumping systems
