Cooperation with the company started in 2012, when pilot testing of WellSim controllers was carried out to compare their functionality with control systems from other manufacturers (Lufkin, MEGA, Standard).
A total of 10 WellSim-based control systems were deployed (without variable frequency drives). The following results were achieved and met the success criteria:
— Energy savings: 20%
— WellSim failure rate: below 1%
— Increase in well uptime factor: +1.5% across the well stock
— Average production rate calculation accuracy: within 5%
— Average annual economic effect: 326.2 thousand RUB (about 10K USD by the date’s currency rate)*
*Data provided by the pilot supervision department of Tatneft
Following the successful pilot results, 50 WellSim control stations were initially deployed. Subsequently, all sucker rod pump (SRP) wells were equipped withWellSim controllers.
Theoretical and practical training sessions on configuration and maintenance of Naftamatika control systems were conducted.
To date, more than 900 WellSim-based control stations have been deployed at Tatneft facilities, with data integrated into the XSPOC monitoring and control system.
